Parliamentary Secretary for Affordability and Utilities
Chantelle de Jonge was appointed the Parliamentary Secretary for Affordability and Utilities on July 13, 2023.
Ms. de Jonge earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction in economic and philosophy at the University of Calgary and was awarded the Professor Z.M. Kubinski Prize in Economics for two research projects on Canadian economic issues. She also has her master of public policy from the University of Calgary.
Ms. de Jonge dedicates a lot of her time to volunteering, both at home and abroad. She has also worked as a dental assistant, and previously served as the president of her professional association.
Chantelle de Jonge was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Chestermere-Strathmore on May 29, 2023.
She is currently a member of the following legislative committees:
- Standing Committee on Public Accounts
- Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future
She was the 975th Member to be sworn into the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
