The Honourable Mickey Amery was re-elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly on May 29, 2023 representing the constituency of Calgary-Cross.
Mr. Amery was sworn in as the Minster of Justice on June 9, 2023.
He previously acted as Minister of Children’s Services and held the position of Deputy House Leader.
He served as a member of the Standing Committees on Families and Communities, Private Bills and Private Members’ Public Bills, and the Select Special Committee to Examine Safe Supply.
Before serving with the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Amery was a practicing lawyer and business owner in Calgary. He has worked on several cases of national significance in aboriginal law and consumer protection.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics and a Juris Doctorate in law.
Active in his community, he served as a director for the Learning Disability Association of Alberta and as a member of various local community boards and organizations.
Mr. Amery and his wife have two sons and a daughter.
He was the 913th Member sworn into the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
