Deputy Assistant Opposition Whip
Amanda Chapman was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta as the Member representing Calgary-Beddington, on May 29, 2023.
She is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices.
Prior to joining the Legislative Assembly, Ms. Chapman was the full-time primary caregiver to her children for 12 years. Before that, she held the position of communications coordinator at HIV Community Link (now known as SafeLink Alberta) and was the box office and administration manager for Pumphouse Theatre.
Ms. Chapman played an active role in her community holding various volunteer positions over the past 17 years. She acted as secretary on the board for Sage Theatre, and chair of her community public school council.
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Ms. Chapman graduated with a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Calgary. She is married and has three amazing children. She loves reading, spending time in her garden, and baking with her family.
She was the 959th Member to be sworn into the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
