Brandon Lunty was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Leduc-Beaumont on May 29, 2023.
He is currently a member of the following legislative committees:
- Standing Committee on Public Accounts
- Standing Committee on Families and Communities
Before joining the Alberta Legislature, Mr. Lunty was the manager of intergovernmental relations with Alberta Education. He also worked in intergovernmental relations for affordable housing with Alberta seniors and housing for seven years. In 2014 he acted as a policy analyst for Manitoba Student Aid, and before that, he was in workforce development with Alberta employment and immigration.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Mr. Lunty was raised in rural Alberta and has a strong connection with the community. He obtained a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Alberta and is proud to have lived and worked in several regions of the province.
He now resides in Leduc with his wife and enjoys staying active by playing sports and taking part in outdoor pursuits such as boating, hiking and camping. He has a keen interest in history and documentaries and loves to spend time on the lake with family and friends.
He was the 977th Member to be sworn into the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
