An insider's perspective on the Legislative Assembly.

The Legislative Assembly of Alberta’s Public Service Orientation offers an important foundational understanding of the functions of the Legislative Assembly. This full-day, in-person program explores legislative, budgetary and committee processes, enabling each participant to effectively apply this knowledge to their role in the public service.

Sessions include: 

  • Assembly 101 with the Speaker and Clerk 
  • Decision Making Process with the Cabinet Coordination Office
  • Committees 101 with LAO Committee staff
  • Tour of the Legislature Building
  • Observing the Legislative Assembly in Session
