The Honourable Dan Williams was elected May 29, 2023, to a second term as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for Peace River.
He was sworn in as the Minister of Mental Health and Addiction on June 9, 2023.
Mr. Williams previously served as Chair of the Standing Committee on Private Bills, the Deputy Chair of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services and as a member of the Select Special Ombudsman and Public Interest Commissioner Search Committee.
He was also a member of the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing, and served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Culture and for la Francophonie
Prior to being elected, Mr. Williams worked at a construction and gravel company.
He and his wife, Maureen, live in La Crête, Alberta. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, climbing and canoeing. Mr. Williams speaks French.
He was the 952nd Member sworn into the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
