Peggy Wright was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Edmonton- Beverly-Clareview on May 29, 2023.
Ms. Wright has an established career in the education field, and prior to joining the Legislative Assembly, she worked as an assistant principal, curriculum co-ordinator and teacher and music specialist with the Edmonton Public Schools.
In 2019 Ms. Wright earned her leadership certification for school leaders from the government of Alberta.
Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Ms. Wright earned two degrees from Concordia University, a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of education. She was awarded the silver Governor General’s academic medal from Concordia University in 1997.
Ms. Wright has two children and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid reader and advocate for the Edmonton Public Library and loves attending local music festivals and events.
She was the 971st Member to be sworn into the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
