Jennifer Johnson was elected May 29, 2023, as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta representing the constituency of Lacombe-Ponoka.
She is currently a member of the following legislative committees:
- Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing
- Standing Committee on Private Bills
Mrs. Johnson is the owner and operator of a successful prairie fruit orchard, which has been in business since 2009, and was previously a registered nurse.
Mrs. Johnson is extremely active in her community, and she has been a director for the Bentley Agricultural Society since 2008. She also served as the director and president of Canadian Cherry Producers Inc., chair of the Bentley and Area Multi-use Facility Building Society, and club leader for the Bentley 4-H Multiclub.
Mrs. Johnson has received two awards from the Centre for Learning @ Home: family of the year (2022) and parent of distinction (2023). She has also published a children’s book titled Cherries - Just Right!
She was born in Calgary, Alberta, and is married with four children. Mrs. Johnson graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor of science in nursing. She enjoys spending time in her fruit orchard, listening to music and participating in agricultural advocacy.
Mrs. Johnson was the 972nd Member to be sworn into the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
