Diana Batten was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-Acadia on May 29, 2023.
She is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Families and Communities.
Member Batten began as a small-business owner and then forged a career in health care, first as a research scientist and then as a registered nurse. Her most recent position before being elected to the Assembly was as a public health nurse.
Batten is originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where she received her first bachelor of science degree in biochemistry. She obtained her second degree from the University of Calgary and is currently completing her master’s degree in nursing at Athabasca University.
She is engaged, loves her pets and passes her time reading and travelling.
She was the 983rd Member to be sworn into the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
