Parliamentary Secretary for Indigenous Relations
Andrew Boitchenko was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for the constituency of Drayton Valley-Devon on May 29, 2023.
He is currently a member of the following legislative committees:
- Standing Committee on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund
- Standing Committee on Families and Communities
Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, he worked as a land developer for Jagr Homes and a home builder for Yalta Homes. He was a real estate associate in Edmonton from 2000 to 2023.
Until recently, Mr. Boitchenko served as a board member for both the Alberta Ukraine Chamber of Commerce from 2018 to 2023, and the Advisory Council on Alberta-Ukraine Relations, from 2019 to 2023.
Born in Odesa, Ukraine, he moved to Canada and earned a trades diploma from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and a diploma from the Alberta Real Estate School.
Among the accolades he has received is the Queen Elizabeth II platinum jubilee medal in 2022. He was also a member of the ReMax hall of fame in 2022 and the ReMax 100 percent club in 2020 and 2021.
He and his wife have three children, and his hobbies include golfing, deep sea fishing, and travelling.
Mr. Boitchenko was the 973rd member sworn into the Legislative Assembly of Alberta.
