MOTIONS FOR RETURNS

Motions for returns are requests, usually from Members belonging to opposition caucuses, for Cabinet Ministers to produce specific documents or for detailed data for the information of the Assembly.

Motions for returns must be accepted or rejected within 15 sitting days of appearing on the Order Paper. If agreed to, the Minister must table a response within 30 sitting days. If a motion for a return is rejected or the government wishes to amend it, then it may be debated in the Assembly.

This database enables users to access all motions for returns based on legislative session and includes the MLAs who made the requests.
