WRITTEN QUESTIONS

Questions that require lengthy or complex answers fall under written questions.

Members, usually from opposition caucuses, pose written questions to Cabinet Ministers. They differ from oral questions in that they seek more detailed information. Written questions must be accepted or rejected within 15 sitting days of appearing on the Order Paper. If accepted, the Minister must file the answer with the Assembly within 30 sitting days. Members may debate the written question if a Minister rejects or wishes to amend it.

The written questions database is organized by session and includes all questions as well as the MLAs who asked the questions.
